Futures rose on Monday after an attack on Saudi Arabia's oilfields lifted crude, with Brent up $8.80 to $69.20 a barrel. Chicago, Kansas and Minneapolis wheat, corn and soybeans all gained, and the Russian ruble weakened, supporting Russian wheat values.
Technical analysts said the market was overbought.
The oil spike and weaker ruble lifted grain values through energy linkages and higher Russian export prices. Corn in particular tracks crude through biofuel economics, so the price support depends on whether crude holds its gains.
