Soybeans closed up 20 to 27 cents on Monday after the US and China agreed to cut tariffs by 115 percentage points for 90 days, with the US rate on Chinese goods falling to 30% and China's to 10%. The May WASDE showed old-crop soybean ending stocks of 295 million bushels, well below trade estimates, and new-crop production of 4.34 billion bushels.
Tighter old-crop stocks and the tariff relief support soybean, meal and oil prices, while the large new-crop production estimate caps further gains.
