ZMP reports European nitrogen fertilizer prices rose to their highest level since early 2023 on November 20, with urea around USD 350/t on December 4. The EU has imposed an import duty on Russian nitrogen fertilizers since July 2025, cutting Russian urea imports by about two-thirds, while phosphate and potash prices are reported up sharply year on year.
The EU shift away from Russian supply tightens nitrogen availability and supports non-Russian prices, raising input costs for European grain and feed producers. Higher phosphate and potash prices add to feed cost pressure over the coming season.
