USDA again cut global soybean production by 8.7 million tons, with reductions for Brazil (-5 MMT), Argentina (-1.5 MMT) and Paraguay (-1.8 MMT). Global soybean ending stocks were lowered to 92.8 MMT, and global demand was reduced by 5.8 MMT on softer Chinese demand.
The report was mildly supportive for corn and wheat, and CBOT soybeans rose above $16 a bushel for the first time since June.
Cumulative global soybean production cuts of about 21 million tons tighten the balance sheet and support soybean and soymeal prices. Lower Chinese demand partly offsets the supply tightening.
