Urea prices have started to rise while phosphate and potash prices continue to fall from their April 2022 peaks, according to Rabobank. The rise follows oil production cuts, a rebound in US demand and reports that China may increase its fertiliser export quota.
Rabobank says any Chinese export increase would expand global supply.
A possible Chinese export quota increase would add supply and could weigh on phosphate prices while giving only temporary support to urea. Buyers of urea-based inputs should expect volatility until export volumes are confirmed.
