Bangladesh's National Board of Revenue withdrew the 5% advance tax on imports of all chemical fertilisers, including TSP, DAP, MOP and MAP. The order followed complaints from importers, and several ships carrying fertiliser had been stuck at Chittagong port.
Removing the advance tax lowers landed import costs for fertilizer in Bangladesh, which should help keep local prices stable for farmers. The effect is limited to one importing country and is unlikely to move global fertilizer prices.
After 50 past bearish policy events, DAP moved a median +0.9% over 5 sessions (62% higher; middle half -0.1% to +1.6%), and +0.9% over 20.
