Kazakhstan plans to raise exports of vegetable oils and oilseed meals to China to 1 million tons over the next two seasons, up from 657,000 tons last season. The oilseed processors' association attributes the expansion to a larger raw-material base, increased processing capacity and improved rail logistics; shipment-plan fulfillment through the Dostyk–Alashankou crossing has risen above 90%.
Greater Kazakh exports could add competition in China’s vegetable-oil and oilseed-meal markets, potentially weighing on prices for those products. Improved rail reliability supports the feasibility of the planned increase.
