Soybean planting in Paraná advanced over the past week, reaching 71% of the more than 5.7 million hectares planned for the 2026/27 crop, but remains behind the pace of the previous three seasons. Excess rain has restricted field access and, along with reduced sunlight and below-normal temperatures, slowed crop development; 85% of fields were rated good, down from 88% the week before.
Continued wet weather could delay planting and weaken crop conditions, creating some upside risk for soybean prices if yield prospects deteriorate. A longer soybean cycle may also disrupt plans for the next corn crop, whose planting is scheduled for January.
