IFDC's bulletin says global fertilizer prices rose sharply from February to September 2026 before easing, with DAP rising from $627 to $801 per mt, while urea fell from $472 to $408 FOB and MOP eased to $368 CFR. Over the same period maize rose about 14% and wheat about 20%.
DAP staying well above February levels raises phosphate costs for feed-grain and oilseed production in Southern Africa, while the easing of urea and potash offers some relief. The price pullback is partial, so input costs remain a supply-side pressure.
After 66 past bullish report events, DAP moved a median 0.0% over 5 sessions (41% higher; middle half -0.6% to +0.7%), and +0.3% over 20.
After 42 past bearish report events, UREA moved a median +0.3% over 5 sessions (57% higher; middle half -1.9% to +3.3%), and +2.9% over 20.
