African swine fever has been confirmed on a third Polish commercial pig farm, with more than 60 pigs dying and about 8,000 culled in Podlaskie province. It is the largest ASF outbreak in Poland's commercial pig sector so far.
Further outbreaks were reported in domestic pigs in Romania, China, Hong Kong, South Africa, Ukraine and Vietnam.
Poland is a regional pork producer, so the outbreak lowers local hog supply and feed demand, with a modest effect on European and global feed prices.
