The European Commission's latest 2026/27 supply and demand balance, as of 30 October, lowers EU-27 soft wheat to 123.7 million tonnes from 124.2 million and corn to 47.0 million from 48.3 million. Total EU grain output is forecast at 259.1 million tonnes, 5.7% below the five-year average, with corn down 22% against that average.
Further cuts to EU corn and wheat increase import demand for feed grains and support European and world prices. Lower ending stocks reduce the buffer against supply shocks.
After 1,040 past bullish report events, CORN moved a median +0.5% over 5 sessions (62% higher; middle half -0.9% to +2.0%), and +0.8% over 20.
