USDA data raised the 2026/27 US oats production forecast by 1% to about 69 million bushels, as yields rose 4% to 75.3 bushels per acre, partly offset by a 3% cut in harvested area. Total supply was raised by 1 million bushels to 173 million, and ending stocks were revised up by 1 million to 33 million bushels.
Higher US production and larger ending stocks add to domestic oat supply, which is a modest bearish factor for oat prices. The revision is small and unlikely to move the market much on its own.
After 72 past bearish report events, Oats moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (50% higher; middle half -3.7% to +3.8%), and -2.5% over 20.
