An analysis of U.S. soybean markets finds that weaker export demand and weaker biofuel demand, compared with the MY 23/24 benchmark year, reinforced each other. The result was soybean oil prices about 3.97 cents per pound lower than under MY 23/24 demand conditions.
Lower soybean oil demand from biofuels and exports pressures soybean oil values and weakens the crush margin for soybean meal. Feed buyers should watch whether biofuel policy changes shift this balance.
