Oil benchmarks fell more than 3% on May 6 as traders weighed an Axios report of a one-page US-Iran memorandum to end the war, along with profit-taking ahead of the weekend. Brent was around $110.29 and WTI near $102.27 in early Asian trade, with Murban, gasoline and natural gas also lower.
The deal headline lowers the geopolitical premium on crude, which feeds through to diesel and freight costs for feed. Nothing has been agreed yet, so prices could reverse if talks stall.
