Wheat futures rose over 5% on Wednesday after the USDA report showed US soybean, corn and wheat stocks lower than a year earlier. December wheat closed at $5.78 a bushel after a day high of $5.87.
The unexpected drop in wheat stocks to 2.16 billion bushels drove the sharp price gain, tightening supply for feed-wheat buyers.
After 769 past bullish report events, Wheat (SRW) moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (53% higher; middle half -1.4% to +2.0%), and +0.2% over 20.
