The USDA attaché in Beijing forecasts China’s soybean imports at 110 million tonnes in 2026/27, compared with the official USDA estimate of 115 million tonnes and 114 million tonnes the previous season. The attaché also projects lower Chinese soybean production, crushing, and total consumption than the official USDA forecasts, with higher ending stocks.
The lower import and crush estimates imply weaker Chinese demand for soybeans, a bearish signal for global prices and export demand from major suppliers.
After 788 past bearish report events, Soybeans moved a median -0.3% over 5 sessions (47% higher; middle half -2.0% to +1.5%), and -0.9% over 20.
