Rabobank forecasts Australia's 2026-27 crop output at 63 million tonnes, down 8% from last year's strong harvest, which had record barley and canola output. The bank says Australian exchange contracts for January 2027 and 2028 have recently fallen, though by less than CBOT prices.
It attributes the pressure to improving global grain supply.
A crop of 63 million tonnes is still ample, which helps keep global wheat and barley supplies comfortable and limits price gains. Lower Australian futures point to softer prices for feed grains.
