The customs broker employees' union AEDA began an indefinite strike at Buenos Aires port terminals after wage negotiations with the employer chamber CDA failed. The union has blocked access to Terminal Río de La Plata and APM Terminals Terminal 4.
The employers had offered a 34% raise, which workers rejected.
Blocked access at Buenos Aires terminals can delay export loadings of Argentine soybean meal, oil and corn, which may widen Argentine FOB basis discounts and slightly lift near-term offshore prices.
