Port workers in Greater Rosario, through which 80% of Argentina's grain is shipped, suspended a planned 24-hour strike after a truck driver ran over and killed a protester. The strike had started at midnight over layoffs and wage demands.
Workers said they would join a national CGT general strike on April 6.
Disruption at Rosario, Argentina's main grain export hub, can delay wheat, corn and soybean loadings and widen Argentine FOB basis discounts. The April 6 national strike is a further risk to shipments.
