Argentine grain port inspectors' union URGARA announced a 24-hour walk-off starting midnight Sunday after talks with the Private Ports Chamber on a collective work agreement collapsed. The stoppage was set to run through all of Monday, and the union planned to meet Labor Minister Claudio Moroni on Tuesday about conciliation.
Argentina is the top soymeal exporter and a major corn and soybean shipper, so halted port inspections delay export loadings and can tighten nearby supply while supporting meal and oil prices.
