Corn futures fell about 10 cents and soybean futures about 22 cents after USDA raised U.S. production and yield estimates to record levels. Corn was put at 15.23 billion bushels and soybeans at 4.36 billion, both above trade expectations.
Analysts said the bigger crops pushed ending stocks higher.
Record production and higher carryout are bearish for feed grain and oilseed prices. Lower crush estimates for soybeans also reduce demand for soybean meal.
After 1,102 past bearish report events, Corn moved a median -0.2% over 5 sessions (47% higher; middle half -1.8% to +1.3%), and +0.0% over 20.
