The Mosaic Company reported fourth-quarter earnings of $0.03 per share. Its average diammonium phosphate (DAP) selling price was $317 per tonne, down from $410 a year earlier.
Mosaic estimated its Q1 2017 realized DAP price, fob plant, at $315 to $335 per tonne.
Lower year-on-year DAP prices and a flat Q1 outlook point to softer phosphate fertilizer costs in early 2017. That reduces input pressure on phosphate-using crops and weighs on DAP price levels.
After 35 past bearish report events, DAP moved a median 0.0% over 5 sessions (37% higher; middle half -0.7% to +1.5%), and +0.6% over 20.
