The Mississippi River Commission will hold a public meeting in Cape Girardeau on Aug. 7 as part of its annual low-water inspection trip.
The meeting will address infrastructure, flood control and navigation concerns, with a second stop planned in Memphis on Aug. 9.
The meeting is a scheduled public forum on river infrastructure, which affects the cost and reliability of grain barge transport. It has no direct price effect.
