Indonesian Palm Oil Association data show first-half 2018 palm oil exports fell 2% year on year to 15.30 million tonnes. Exports to India and Europe declined, while shipments to the US rose 13%.
Crude palm oil averaged US$605 to 695 a tonne in the first half and never reached US$700.
Lower export volumes to major buyers and a weak price range point to softer palm oil demand, partly offset by growth in US purchases.
After 96 past bearish report events, Palm Oil moved a median -0.1% over 5 sessions (48% higher; middle half -1.3% to +1.6%), and -0.9% over 20.
