NOPA members crushed 171.7 million bushels of soybeans in December 2018, up 3% from November and from a year earlier, slightly above the roughly 170 million bushel industry forecast. Processors made 4.0 million tons of soybean meal, up 2% year over year, and exported over 825,000 tons, while soybean oil ending stocks fell 1% from a year ago.
Strong crush and meal output are offset by firm global meal demand and strong biodiesel-driven oil use, which together support meal and oil prices and tighten the balance for feed buyers.
