The USDA has suspended most of its National Agricultural Statistics Service, Foreign Agricultural Service and Farm Service Agency reports during the shutdown. Missed items include the January 11 Crop Production and WASDE reports, weekly export sales and the CFTC Commitments of Traders report.
Traders are working with less public information, which raises uncertainty and risk premiums for grain and oilseed prices. Feed buyers should expect thinner, less predictable pricing until the reports resume.
