Bangladesh's government raised domestic retail prices of urea, DAP, TSP and MOP by Tk 5 per kg, about 27% on average, on April 10. The government cited higher global prices even though international fertilizer prices had fallen sharply, and it said it spent Tk 280 billion on farm subsidies last fiscal year.
The retail hike is a domestic policy move that raises farm input costs in Bangladesh and could cut fertilizer application. It does not change global benchmark prices.
After 250 past policy events, DAP moved a median +0.1% over 5 sessions (53% higher; middle half -0.6% to +1.3%), and +1.5% over 20.
