US fertilizer prices firmed this week on spring demand, with Nola urea hitting a nine-week high at $335-355/st fob. India settled its standard potash contract with Uralkali and Canpotex at $422/t cfr, $168/t below the previous contract, for April-September delivery.
Ammonia in NW Europe and DAP prices were softer.
The lower Indian potash contract and softer DAP and ammonia prices point to continued downward pressure on fertilizer input costs for feed producers' crop suppliers. The short-lived US urea rally is unlikely to reverse the broader bearish trend.
