S&P Global Platts launched daily physical price assessments for soybean oil and soybean meal exports from Argentina, effective September 3, 2019. The soybean oil benchmark covers 1,000 mt parcels loading Up River on the Paraná.
Argentina accounts for about 46% of global soybean oil exports and 44% of meal exports.
The new benchmarks improve price transparency for Argentine oilseed products, which supply a large share of world soymeal and soyoil trade. They do not by themselves change supply or demand.
