The EIA reported that the national average diesel price rose for a fourth consecutive week, to $3.253 a gallon for the week of May 24. The national average has stayed above $3 a gallon since March 1, and WTI traded near $65.97.
Persistent diesel prices above $3 a gallon keep trucking and feed transport costs elevated. The EIA forecast of $2.88 for 2021 implies some expected easing later in the year.
After 109 past bullish report events, DIESEL moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -3.3% to +3.9%), and +0.3% over 20.
