The EIA reported the national average diesel price rose 3.4 cents to $3.769 a gallon for the week of June 24, following a 7.7-cent gain the prior week. The average has been below $4 a gallon in 11 of the last 12 weeks and is 3.2 cents lower than a year ago.
The rise in government-reported retail diesel prices feeds directly into freight and fuel surcharge costs for feed supply chains. The gain is modest and the level remains well below earlier 2024 highs.
After 109 past bullish report events, ULSD / Diesel moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (51% higher; middle half -3.3% to +3.9%), and +0.3% over 20.
