Russian wheat exports in spring 2021 fell to their lowest in five seasons because of an export tax introduced in February. Barley and corn dominated shipments as their duties were lower.
From 2 June the duty on wheat falls to $28.1 per tonne while corn and barley rise.
The lower wheat duty should revive Russian wheat export sales, tightening available supply and supporting wheat prices. Higher coarse grain duties should reduce corn and barley export competition.
