The EFSA FEEDAP panel published a scientific opinion on L-lysine sulfate produced by Corynebacterium glutamicum KCCM 80227 as a nutritional feed additive for all animal species. The panel found it safe for target species, consumers and the environment, and an efficacious source of L-lysine for non-ruminants.
A safety approval for a lysine sulfate source broadens the range of lysine supply options for feed formulators, a modest supply-side factor for amino acids used in compound feed. The opinion is regulatory and unlikely to move feed grain or meal prices.
After 206 past neutral policy events, Soybean Meal moved a median -0.4% over 5 sessions (44% higher; middle half -2.3% to +1.8%), and -0.7% over 20.
