A new grain handling terminal operated by Bruce Oakley, Inc. has opened in Cahokia, Illinois, on the St. Louis region's Mississippi River grain corridor. The facility can handle at least 1,000 more truckloads of grain daily and includes a barge dock, rail yard and 153,000 tons of storage.
Added handling capacity in the St. Louis corridor eases bottlenecks at the origin end of the grain supply chain. The effect on prices is small and mostly affects local basis.
