A new Bruce Oakley grain terminal in Cahokia, Illinois has opened, expanding handling capacity in the St. Louis area known as the Ag Coast of America. The terminal adds barge, rail and truck capacity, with at least 1,000 more truckloads of grain handled daily.
Extra capacity at the St. Louis barge hub can ease grain movement and local basis levels. The effect on futures prices is minimal.
