Reuters sources report the US urged France and Germany to release strategic diesel reserves immediately and signalled it could restrict US diesel exports if they refuse. European officials rejected an export ban and the IEA is moving to accelerate diesel releases, including over 20 million barrels.
A possible US export ban would tighten domestic diesel supply and lift prices, while reserve releases would partly offset global shortages; the net effect on fuel costs for feed logistics is uncertain.
After 26 past bullish trade events, ULSD / Diesel moved a median -1.9% over 5 sessions (31% higher; middle half -5.6% to +1.6%), and -4.8% over 20.
