FAO and WFP released a Hunger Hotspots report warning of acute food insecurity in 20 countries from June to September 2022. The report cites conflict, weather extremes, COVID-19 and the war in Ukraine as drivers.
It says the war has pushed food and energy prices higher.
The report signals strong humanitarian demand for grain and high import needs in vulnerable countries. It does not directly change supply or price in the futures markets.
