USDA's August report raised the 2024 US corn crop by 47 million bu to 15.147 billion, with a record yield of 183.1 bpa, and raised new-crop exports to 2.30 billion bu. The soybean crop was raised 154 million bu to a record 4.589 billion, 120 million bu above expectations, with the yield at a record 53.2 bpa.
Record US soybean and corn output above trade expectations adds supply that weighs on meal and feed grain prices, although higher export demand partly offsets the bearish effect.
