ABARES raised its forecasts for Australia's three largest winter crops in its March quarterly report. Wheat was lifted to 34.1 million tonnes from 31.9 million, barley to 13.3 million from 11.7 million, and canola to 5.9 million from 5.6 million.
Yields beat expectations in Western Australia and New South Wales, while South Australia and Victoria were weaker.
A larger Australian wheat and barley crop adds exportable supply to global markets and eases pressure on prices for feed and milling grains. Buyers can expect more competitive offers from Australian origin.
After 1,006 past bearish report events, Wheat (SRW) moved a median +0.0% over 5 sessions (50% higher; middle half -1.6% to +1.8%), and +0.3% over 20.
