Indonesia's Trade Ministry set the crude palm oil export duty for 16-31 January 2023 at US$74 per tonne, up 42% from US$52 for the prior half-month. The increase follows a 7.17% rise in the CPO reference price used for duty and levy calculation.
A higher export duty raises the cost of Indonesian palm oil exports, supporting international vegetable oil prices and tightening the competitive balance against soyoil and other substitutes.
