Pakistan's ambassador to Indonesia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, said Pakistan has asked Jakarta to ease the crude palm oil export levy, now about USD 129 per tonne. Pakistan wants to refine Indonesian CPO and re-export products regionally.
Pakistan is also open to a joint refinery venture.
A lower Indonesian export levy would cut import costs for refiners in importing countries and could support Indonesian shipments. The request is not yet a policy change, so the near-term price effect is limited.
After 513 past neutral policy events, Palm Oil moved a median 0.0% over 5 sessions (50% higher; middle half -1.6% to +1.4%), and -0.1% over 20.
