The Iowa Soybean Association warned that reported expansion of small refinery exemptions for 2025 could exceed 1.8 billion RINs. The group estimates this could eliminate 500 million gallons of biomass-based diesel demand and cost farmers about $1 billion.
If exemptions reduce biomass-based diesel blending, soybean oil demand would weaken, pressuring soybean oil and soybean prices.
