INTA scientists in Argentina are running field trials at the Manfredi station to test whether better nitrogen nutrition can offset drought stress in soybeans. Trials found drought during grain filling cut yield by 71%, while extra nitrogen under water deficit raised grain weight by 12% and protein by 5%.
The work is still exploratory.
This is early research with no near-term supply impact, so it has minimal effect on feed commodity prices.
