US feeder cattle futures ended lower on 10 November after nearing a six-week high as corn prices surged. A USDA report lowered its corn and soybean harvest estimates and raised demand forecasts, pushing corn to its highest since July 2019 and soybeans to their highest since July 2016.
USDA also raised its 2020 beef production estimate.
Lower USDA crop estimates and higher demand forecasts lift corn and soy prices, squeezing feeding margins and reducing what feeders will pay for cattle.
