French farmers had harvested 85% of the grain maize crop by October 23, up from 74% a week earlier, according to FranceAgriMer. Soft wheat sowing for next year's harvest reached 54% of expected area, compared with 38% a week before.
Harvest and sowing progress are routine crop pace data that give little new price signal, as the French crop is already largely known.
