The JRC MARS October bulletin expects EU summer crop yields mostly near or above average, but grain maize is 3% and sunflower 10% below the five-year average due to south-eastern Europe. Winter crop sowing is progressing well in most of Europe, with delays in Bulgaria, Romania, Portugal and Spain.
Lower maize and sunflower yields in south-east Europe tighten feed corn and sunflower meal supply, while otherwise healthy EU crops limit upside.
