Egyptian fertilizer producers, including MOPCO, Abu Qir Fertilizers and the Egyptian Fertilizer Company, were notified of further natural-gas supply cuts effective November 8. The reductions are equivalent to halting one production line at each facility and will continue for an unspecified period as Egypt manages costly LNG imports and limited gas availability.
Reduced gas availability can constrain Egyptian nitrogen-fertilizer production, tightening urea supply and supporting prices. The price effect depends on how long the cuts last and how much output is actually lost.
After 92 past bullish macro events, Urea moved a median +0.0% over 5 sessions (50% higher; middle half -2.0% to +3.6%), and +4.8% over 20.
