Brazilian soybean shipments to the EU rose 52.4% year over year to 2.97 million tonnes from July 1 to October 25, accounting for 78.39% of EU imports. US shipments fell 59.8% to 577,180 tonnes, while Ukrainian shipments declined 60.5% to 144,520 tonnes; total EU imports were down 2.4% to 3.79 million tonnes.
With overall EU import demand relatively steady, Brazilian origin is displacing US and Ukrainian supplies. The stronger competition may weigh on US and Ukrainian export demand while supporting Brazil’s export flow; the news is broadly neutral for soybean prices absent a change in total demand.
