Bulog’s North Sumatra office distributed 3,048 tonnes of feed corn, or 84.64% of its 3,601-tonne allocation, to 28 egg producers across six areas. Eligible farmers can buy the corn for Rp5,000/kg, compared with market prices of Rp7,400–7,800/kg.
The subsidized supply gives participating poultry farms access to corn below prevailing local prices, easing feed costs and helping maintain egg output. The effect on broader corn prices is limited by the program’s regional scope and allocated volume.
After 310 past bearish policy events, Corn moved a median +0.3% over 5 sessions (54% higher; middle half -1.4% to +1.9%), and +0.6% over 20.
