The JRC’s October 2026 estimates put EU corn yield at 6.42 tonnes per hectare, 9% below the five-year average. France’s yield is estimated 31% below average and Hungary’s 46% below, while Romania’s is 15% above average; calculations using reported area put Romania’s crop at about 7.88 million tonnes.
Lower yields across major EU producing countries could reduce regional corn availability and support prices, although stronger yields in Romania and some other countries partly offset the declines.
After 1,040 past bullish report events, Corn moved a median +0.5% over 5 sessions (62% higher; middle half -0.9% to +2.0%), and +0.8% over 20.
